Our Approach

We finish strong.  The athletes we train finish strong.  Surrounded by an atmosphere filled with a combination of the best coaches, equipment, current methodologies and athletes, finishing strong is about more than completing a lift. Our athletes set goals they finish, both inside and outside the gym.  At Proven Strength, we are all about finishing what we start and building the confidence to start again and again.  Our players start every game and finish strong.

Olympic Weightlifting is an incredible sport.  It teaches balance, strength, mobility, acceleration, tension, concentration, mental toughness, patience, explosiveness, speed, and more.  At Proven Strength, we work to help everyone master these disciplines.  Not only for what they mean to a person’s ability to lift, but even more so for their transference to other disciplines.  We train athletes to durability and longevity is their chosen sport.  We want football players to separate themselves with their strength and explosiveness.  We want them to accelerate and decelerate quickly in the correct sequence and circumstance.  We want basketball players to increase their stamina, strength, and vertical jump.  Our goal is to help soccer players with the speed, endurance, and ball handling skills necessary to be called elite.  All of these are learned behaviors.  With correct coaching principles applied to sport specific strength, conditioning, speed, and agility training we motivate and facilitate athletes reach their individual potential.

At Proven Strength we place special focus on the young athlete.  Starting a strength program when young has proven to be beneficial through the life of an athlete.  Fewer injuries, better body awareness, clear nutritional needs are just a few of the benefits.  We believe that young athletes aged 12-18 are especially primed for listening to qualified coaches and following their instructions.  Our focus is always, always on learning technique before ever adding any weight.  “The athlete must show proficiency with a PVC pipe, then a bar, then progressively heavier weights.  If at any time there is a breakdown in technique, or form, we go back to the previous point of proficiency.”  – Coach Jenny

Jenny Schumacher

Head Coach

Jenny sees every lift is an intricate combination of strength, body mechanics, leverage and mobility. Her gift is in being able to understand an athlete’s goal, observe their lift and explain specifically how to achieve their goal. Whether they want to become a champion weightlifter, a starting running back, a better CrossFitter, or simply a stronger version of themselves Jenny’s personalized programming includes the strength, mobility, stabilizing, and corrective exercises to include in each athlete’s workouts.

Jenny is a National Level Coach with USAW,  an IWF National Referee and currently serves as Grassroots Director for the USA Weightlifting Board of Directors. Jenny is a Registered Nurse, holds certifications is CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, Mobility, & Explosivity. She loves lifting, competing, river running, skiing,  wake surfing, and traveling.
